IDA GETS INPUT ON ZONING LAW.(Capital Region)

Byline: BILL EAGER Staff writer

Despite neighborhood opposition, Republican leaders will pursue plans to loosen zoning laws near Northway Exit 10, but they also appear ready to toughen the legislation.

A list of prohibited industries, added before a public hearing on Monday night, is likely to grow as a way to appease worried residents and guarantee that clean industries buy the acreage in the northeast end of town.

"Given the responses we got, I think we can put together a really nice piece of legislation now," said Marvin R. LeRoy Jr., the town supervisor. "The sense I got was that there is a possibility that we can go a little further."
